This group is for anyone who loves being healthy and fit and plans on doing it for life. It can be a struggle sometimes for some but maybe not others. Lets go through the trials and tribulations together. Lets celebrate our goals and help keep eachother going! If being fit makes you wanna jump for joy, just do it! We only have one life we might as well make sure we can live it up...

Carina BTW, you know how I started running after that first 5K? Well, now I bike and/or run my errands if they're not too far. I looked pretty funny last week, running to the post office with my outgoing mail in hand and then running to the village hall to drop off my water bill! :)

Carina I couldn't agree with you more, Lisa. I get the same comments from people around me. I either inspire/motivate them to workout or they think I'm a "fitness freak" (somebody actually called me that once!) which I'm not. I work full-time, raise a child with special needs and have everyday responsibilities so I'm just as busy as the rest of the world. Sure, I workout 5 times a week but I don't think that's excessive. Some people choose not to live an active lifestyle... well, I choose to. It gives me more energy to get through the day, it makes me feel more confident with everything else I do in my life, it keeps me "young at heart" and I have fewer visits to the doctors. What can be wrong with that? :) This is one reason I joined FitConnect: so I can be amongst people with the same goals I have in mind!

LadyLisa I walk or bick to work everyday unless it is raining and people say I'm hardcore and they wish they had that much energy, problem is that I start off forcing myself to be active because i need to be active to feel good if I don't be active I feel like crap...lol sometimes I don't have energy either but I do it anyway. I also don't even feel like I do that much but I guess because I do it everyday people think that is alot.

LadyLisa Good for you Jim, I love hearing stories like that. People always ask me how I lost 100 lbs in a year and half after having a baby and I just tell them that I did because I wanted to feel good I did it for my own well being and I get some answers like "Oh I could never do that" and thats their first mistake you'll won't accopmplish something unless you have a better attitude about it. I have always had to motivate myself when it comes to my health its hard to find people that do as much as I do...and now I have been also thinking about personal training maybe I will look into do that one day.
