Description
Enough is enough. Inspiration and illustration of human spirit and how that drive can overcome just about any obstacle is where the value of this show ends! Ultimately this show sets the average person up for failure.

In many towns and cities across the U.S. there have are now gyms creating "Biggest Loser" contests spawned in an effort to increase participation and lose fat.

Over training!
Training for symptoms only!
Caloric deficis resulting in feeble metabolisms!
Short term success at best!
Clouded messages on what fitness is!
Misleading corporate message of what is "healthy"

This needs to stop.

boazoz This show and many other like this offer the wrong idea. Moderation and small progresive steps are whats necessary. If you asking my opinion, the lady trainer on that show is with no heart, and not that great of a trainer!

kettlebell27 Back in my full-time days, this show was all I seemed to hear about, and how people felt they needed to do the craziest workouts & regimens of dieting, in order to get 'in shape' or make such a big weight loss goal. It just goes to show us that perceptions are created easily by what people see & hear on TV and they take it as all-out truth on blind faith.

davegleason Great point on the injury issue. I can't imagine there is not a staff of PT's, message therapists, and an MD on site at all times.

crista Among those reasons I have had clients want to lose weight just as rapidly and got gotten discourage when their success was not as fast. I am truely surprised Biggest Loser has not had more injuries in result of their crazy regime. I also think it is just down right mean when they tempt them with that much junk food, I know even I'd cave. Teach moderation, it's ok to have a small small piece of cake, don't eat halve of it. I like this group Dave, I always disliked this show, it is against ever rule we as trainer try to teach.

OzzieOcean The show itself is ok in its basic idea. I also think it is good that it may inspire some people to try and get healthy. It bugs me that it has become a whore to corporate investors. Drinking Brita will not help you lose weight, Subways is not always the healthy choice, and extra gum has nothing to do with this at all!
I do give alot of credit to the contestants who are so far from their loved ones. Good for them for making the effort!
